Through my work I am creating a language using objects as metaphors for inward conflict and loss of love. I approach my work as a diary, admitting to my failures and revealing personal events in my life which function as both tragic and humorous. In “Intangible Rose Shade” a ladder balances an aquarium with fake roses and a still life painting, suggesting unattainable love and fear of losing. There is a tension between the tip of the ladder and the bottom of the aquarium, just as the connection between two people can be precariously balanced and unreal.
